In the XS we have developed the Europa to even greater levels of performance and utility. The XS kit now goes together much easier with hundreds of hours saved in the construction and finishing time.

Potential builders were telling us that they no longer want a two to three year project but rather a kit that could be built within a single year of part-time work. Pilots wanted more speed, more comfort, more payload, more baggage space and greater range. The XS has been developed to meet all these requirements.

By careful re-design of the interior, greater levels of space and comfort have been achieved for both pilot and passenger – for the really tall pilot two inches of extra leg room is available.

Seven small storage areas, plus the doubling in size of the aft baggage bay means that there is plenty of space available for extended touring holidays.

A completely new firewall forward design has given the pilot a better forward view while a reduction in cooling drag offers better performance.

A new pre-molded and pre-assembled higher aspect ratio wing with greater span ailerons has been incorporated into the XS. The wing has been designed to give better climb and altitude performance, a crisper roll rate and an even gentler stall.

A new conventional tail wheel arrangement has been designed for the XS which increases the wheelbase by 23% and makes the aircraft easier to handle on the ground for less experienced pilots. Our aim with the XS kit has been to drastically reduce the building time and increase the pleasure and satisfaction in building your own aircraft. The old wet lay-up wings have been replaced by state of the art pre-preg vacuum bagged composite moldings which have also been largely pre-assembled requiring the builder to do very little work to complete. The entire fuselage and wings now come finished in a new epoxy ‘constructor’ gel coat that requires very little finishing work. The fin is molded as part of the top fuselage shell and many other parts come pre-molded saving hours of work. For more details, and pictures of the Europa Kit, Click Here.
